The Contemporary Art&Design Showcases was an independent series of exhibitions spanning an entire week, showcasing the works of Drexel students of all colleges.
The aim of the event was to create a space for students to not only promote and showcase their remarkable work but also offer them valuable experience and constructive critiques from both peers and professionals. It also presented a good opportunity to break down the barriers between the various arts and design communities on campus that Drexel had.

LE DRAMATURGE

I began styling as an intern in 2018 and since then it has always been something I enjoyed and felt I could be good at.

This project was my first solo shoot, styling & directing. The idea for the shoot was quite random and evolved as I did more research into the theme I had pictured.

Here are some of the images from my mood board.

The main dilemma was sourcing garments, I was a broke college student with barely any connections in Philadelphia. So I just went around to consignment stores and just asked if they would loan stuff to me. In my search, I met this super nice old lady that had a consignment store with some interesting things. She let me pick out whatever I wanted and did not charge me for the lease.

Unfortunately, that was all the luck I had with sourcing so I had to work with only garments and accessories from one store with not as much variety as I needed. However, it was still a great learning experience.

Collaborated on the shoot with Nate Ogunbiyi as the photographer
The result was nothing like the where the idea started from but happy accidents or whatever Bob Ross called it.
